Commander's Message It is indeed an honor to assume the office of Post #2 Commander. I accept the challenges of this office and pledge to undertake my responsibilities in the same spirit of progress, cooperation, enthusiasm, and patriotism demonstrated by those who preceded me. I wish to recognize our Immediate Past Commander Cathy Keogh for her patient, effective, and steady leadership in 2003-2004. Cathy capably led us through the time several Legionnaires were activated to serve in the war on terror in country and overseas. She led our Post's involvement with all area family support groups. Cathy pioneered new initiatives crucial to our organization's future. From all Post #2 Legionnaires, thank you Cathy for a job well done!!! Our most immediate challenge relates to our Post #2 home. Please read my June 22, 2004 letter and information sheets recently mailed to you. I respectfully request all Legionnaires attend the "very important" July 6, 2004 post meeting. Decisions will be made that directly affect our facility and program future. Post #2 uses several media resources to communicate with members about events, entertainment, programs, and information. In addition to our newsletter, please become familiar with our website www.tristateveterans.com for information and communications. Our web master, 3rd Vice Commander David Rice, requests all Legionnaires give their e-mail address to the office so e-mail may be used as another communications tool. In the year ahead I am adopting a theme for Legionnaire participation and involvement. "I ask that no individual Legionnaire be expected do every task but rather every Legionnaire do at least one task for the good of our organization." Please embrace this theme and generously share your gifts, talents, and time with our American Legion. I look forward to an exciting and progressive year.

Auxiliary President's Message Greetings! I hope everyone is enjoying summer, now that it is here. We held the installation of officers at the June meeting and have dispensed with the July and August meetings, so I hope to see you in September! I would like to thank this year's officers for their willingness to be a part of the Auxiliary team: First Vice President: Barb Nash There is some great news from Girls State this year. One of the attendees from Fargo, Eleanor Wilking, who attends Fargo South High School, was elected Governor! She will be attending Girls Nation in July. We hope to hear of her experience at the September meeting. Everyone should be receiving their membership renewal this summer. Please send them in as soon as you can. We have been working on the renewal system and hope this will work to get the cards out in a timely manner. Thank you for your support of the American Legion Auxiliary. If you know anyone who is eligible to join, please don't hesitate to contact the Fargo Post for an application. It would be great to see more members at the meetings. Enjoy your summer!
