Members present: Hank Deyle, Bob Lechner, Duane Lee, Wally Lueck, Tom Miller, Marlyn Wegge, Bob Long, Cathy Keogh and Dave Johnston.

Duane Lee: Questioned if we are going to look at changing the meeting date. Consensus was to leave at 11:30 AM at this time and perhaps try two meeting a year in the evening.

Bob Long: Was very impressed with the ceremony on 9/11 on Veterans Memorial Bridge. It was even more special when Congressman Berg came over and shook his hand.!

Commander Cathy: Bus to Hope for 1st District meeting will leave the Legion at 5:00 PM. There will be a free will offering to cover the cost of gas. Michelle will send out an email to all.

 Larry Jacobson is our new Gaming Manager—new member sponsored by Brent Rider.
 Larry is also cleaning the kitchen and has an interest in cooking—has the experience from his time in the Navy__GO NAVY! We have a bid in to obtain kitchen equipment from the Reserve Center that is being decommissioned.

 Chris Hanson doing a great job as Adjutant. Suggest we could all assist when he needs help in mailing out the memberships.

 Plan is to have a bulletin out in October 2011.

 Past Commander Linda Whaley checks the voice mail at the Post each morning and passes on the messages if necessary.

 November will be a joint meeting with the Auxiliary.

 Membership drive is scheduled for September 24, 2011 at 9:30 AM.

 November 11 is Veterans Day and plans are being made for the stew at Post 2.

Marlyn Wegge: Rummage sale is September 17, 2011 and we can set up early Saturday morning as there is an event Friday night. Items can be dropped off in the Conference room or east room.

Wally Lueck: Would like to know where we are with the $25,000 CD program and if the State Bank of Fargo has any concerns at this time?

Hank Deyle: Jeff Fichtner’s contract was not renewed for 2012.
Baseball has a $30,000 short fall for the past year and he will meet with Commander Cathy and the Area Foundation to see if they will release the money to cover the shortfall.

There is a Viking bus trip planned for October 8/9 to the Viking football game, which is on Sunday. Bus will return after the game


Next meeting will be October 11, 2011 at the Fryn Pan.
