The Portland, North Dakota American Legion, Anderson-Hefta Post #93, built a memorial for all of its members and
military veterans with a Portland address. The memorial was dedicated June
28th, 2003. Navy
Captain (Ret) Gil Rud was the guest speaker at the dedication ceremony. CAPT
Rud, a Portland
North Dakota native, was the Commander of the Navy's Blue Angels and the Commanding Officer
of an Aircraft Carrier during his 28 year career in the Navy. |
