Minutes updated from last meeting should read that we want to encourage veteran’s organizations to get involved in the fundraising for the bridge sign.

Treasurer’s report: motion to approve. Wermager made motion, Haukedahl seconded, passed.

Bridge and Funding: we received $5,000 from Teamsters
Fundraiser at RedHawks game coming up.

Military Appreciation night 19 June 2007
Jerseys will be auctioned off. All jerseys have been purchased as of this time. Game tickets now available, Commanders may receive 30 tickets to pass out.
Dave Rice- color guards in the past, we have had 6-7 groups, muster inside the main office. Perform out on field. Need to know how many organizations will be involved this year.
WF VFW, Fargo VVA, AL, AMVETS, MHD VFW
Call in advance how many tickets you want- 235-6161… will print the tickets up.

HONOR FLIGHT-103 veterans went, all went well. Meeting tomorrow, 15 May at 1000. Car Raffle still continues. $4,000 in 4 hours selling tickets at Carpet World. Dave and Jim were there.

Memorial Day- Cdr. Tuff, will need new speaker as theirs was deployed, Amber Rolph.
Commander Kerbaugh-MC, if we have a letter from the Congressman he will acknowledge but not read them.
Ed Milligan will be speaking. 0900 at Holy Cross
1100 at Riverside
1215 Sunset Memorial
Flags-Jim Haukedahl, will check with Cub Scouts to put up flags. Moorhead group will put up flags Friday night. Riverside will have flags by the main office for those plots that were missed by mistake. Need more than 2,000 flags.
Meet at main office at Riverside to put flags out 0900, Friday before Memorial Day.
1830-2000 on Friday night, to put flags out. Always have problems with those graves we miss, difficult to get all the plots due to markers. Let’s get names of graves and locations. Cannot tell which ones are veterans at times.
Form up at parade at 1030- Boy Scouts who help with flags should be in parade.

Announcements

22 May- Fargo Air Museum- UPB received a request for some flags, put on by West Funeral Home. “Memorial Day”

POW/MIA- Lyle Wells does not follow protocol for posting colors. We need to review how he does things whether or not the organizations should participate.

20 May- pancake feed, Son’s of the American Legion
7 June- Joe Parmer Day
14 June- flag retiring ceremony AMVETS

AL 22 June 2007 Parade would like any color guards to sign up, Department Legion State convention.

Issue of certificates- to those who are flying the American Flag properly, we have participation from all the organizations can we start this up again. Per Bob Long.
