MINUTES FROM UPB MEETING
14 AUGUST 2006
@ Fargo American Legion

Commander Richardson started metting off with the Pledge at 1900 hours.

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Motion to accept by Wally Buckingham, seconded by Phil Woods. Motion passed.

Bob Long gave finance report: 1500$ has been deposited from the sale of Red Hawks jerseys to kick off bridge sign fundraising.  $500.00 from the DAV

Ed Milligan made motion to accept finance report. Seconded by Wally Buckingham. Motion passed.

Bridge sing changes were had not changed from the last meeting when we had discussed the width- 8 inches and amount needed to be raised with that width- at least $57,000.

Another Red Hawks jersey is going back on the auction block. It is suggested that jersey should go to WDAY to let them auction it off. The American Legion/Fargo also has 2 more jerseys to be auctioned off with the same idea as giving it to the radio station for them to auction.

A guitar is also available in same situation. All monies collected are to be given to Bridge Sign fund.

Ed Milligan showed us a sign of Bridge in black and white with the comment THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION on the bottom. It is suggested this be sized down to a 3 x 5. Then give this to folks who make an actual donation to the Bridge Sign function. Ed suggested people would at least get something in return and give them some satisfaction after making the donation.

August 20th Color Guards to perform at the Fargo Horse Track at their Veterans celebration. We will be setting up a table to do some fundraising for the Bridge Sign.

Color Guards expected to show up are- Fargo Legion, Amvets, Fargo VFW
The Winners Circle out front is usually where the Fargo Navy Reserve has done their Color Guards before the races start.
Begins at 1300 so we may need to be there earlier.

8 November 1965
Fargo Theater- will be playing the Documentary. 800 tickets will be available, not sure of how many shows they will have that day at theater. Starts 1800

21 August- Patriotic Riders Ceremony. Color Guards are wanted there at 1345. Fargo Legion, AMVETS, Fargo VFW
Post Colors- attention- until the anthem is done, then go sit down. Leave after Senator Conrad has made his remarks. Please bring your stands for flags.

11 September- Legion Golf tournament at Edgewood

18 September- Commander Haukedahl of the DAV mentioned the VAVS Kickoff Banquet

Next UPB meeting- 25 September at 1800
West Fargo VFW----spaghetti starts at 1630 so you can come graze
